Le Mont Dore, altitude 1050 metres, is a large village at the source of the Dordogne river.
In summer, it’s a thermal spa (just 20 metres away) known for the properties of its waters in caring for respiratory tract problems or rheumatism. It’s also ideal for walking and hiking, mountain biking, golf (a beautifully-situated 9-hole course) and lake or river fishing. There’s also an equestrian centre and a summer toboggan run.
